Our laboratory is unwaveringly committed to laying the groundwork for an imminent super-aging society and contributing to the achievement of a robust, enduring populace through a myriad of activities. These include developing interventions for the timely prevention of geriatric diseases, such as dementia and sarcopenia, as well as conducting research and advancing technology for the promotion of seniors' health through the fusion of industry and academia. The focal point of our research and development endeavors revolves around forestalling the need for long-term care in the elderly populace and achieving early prevention by devising cutting-edge exercise intervention methods and digital therapeutic technologies. Moreover, we conduct interdisciplinary research, utilizing wearable technology to integrate life-log data on daily physical activity, sleep, behavioral patterns, and health status with medical information for the senior population. Additionally, we delve into disease prevention, incorporating multi-modal approaches to devise non-pharmacological intervention technology for personalized exercise therapy. To disseminate our research outcomes and technological advancements, we engage in collaborative efforts with renowned international experts in the field of exercise science, gerontology, and geriatric medicine hailing from the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. This approach facilitates local community outreach and global connectivity through extensive research networks. Recently, our laboratory has been at the forefront of innovative research and development based on industry-academia collaboration, generating touch-screen and smartphone-based cognitive functions, and activity pattern analysis technologies. We are also actively involved in developing exercise-based digital therapeutics to combat sarcopenia and mild cognitive impairment, further reinforcing our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.

Research Interest: My research interests include the development of community-based intervention research of prevention and therapies for dementia or geriatric syndromes in elderly people. In addition, interested in the effects of physical activity on cognition, and how this is modulated by lifestyle, using neuroimaging techniques to examine the neural basis of these effects.
